Too Cute!

How cute is this! This is my son Kenny and his son Max who were in a pet parade this past Sunday in Mobile, AL. A man stopped and started asking Kenny questions when he saw the man had a badge on for the Mobile Press Register, the local paper in Mobile. On Monday morning Kenny's phone started ringing off the wall because his friends had seen this picture on the front page of the paper. Of course he had to call me and let me know and I had to see it so he sent it to me. Max is not a year old yet and is adorable, he also gets along well with Kenny's two cats.
Well today I was off and stayed on the road all day, it was such a beautiful day again that I did not mind being out instead of studying or resting. Now that it is almost 10:00pm here I am feeling the need to do nothing but rest and sleep until I wake up in the morning. Sad thing is I must have my car in the service department at 7:30am for some minor repairs. By the time noon arrives I will be ready for a nap as I work the next three nights for sure.
As part of my running today I needed to get a new name badge for work but did not think of it until I had already left my friends home where I stay when in The Villages working. I also needed to get some new make-up so I decided to go into Belks and let them do my face so I would know what color I need now, that way I would have make-up on when I had my picture taken for my new badge as well. I get to the Human Resources Office to find out that I need to turn in my old badge, which was "back at ranch" so to speak. I drive all the way back to get my badge and decided to put on some eye make-up and change my top so I would look better in my new picture. I arrive back at HR to find the nice young lady had made my new badge so it would be ready for me when I returned. The thing is she used my old picture which was on file to make my new badge. After her kindness I did not have the heart to ask her to make another badge with a new picture, she was just helping me out. I guess as I am soon to be 60 and not a small child I really have not changed that much in one year....

Trick or Treat

I wanted to pumpkin or a picture of a colorful fall day but could not get one here (lack of experience/knowlege downloading pictures) so I decided to use this one that was sent to me some time ago. It has been cool here, down right cold to some of these folks who have never lived away from Florida, and has felt just great. The holiday season is starting to boil inside making me feel so festive, ready to do some eating, baking, eating, having family time, eating, and all the other wonderful things that we do this time of year. God has made such a beautiful place for us and if you don't believe me just drive down a quiet country road, see the different shades of green we have, that's still the predominant color here, and smell the fresh air. Wow, it is so peaceful, I drive down one such road on my seventy-five mile trip to work each week and it such an enjoyable drive for me. When I drive the seventy-five miles back home at the end of my work week I see another beautiful color palette of shades of blue in the Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway and the Atlantic Ocean where I live, who could ask for more than what God has given me, I am truly blessed and know it.
I pray everyone who reads this will look around and see the beauty in the world then enjoy it. Have a fun filled Trick or Treat this week and don't let any ghosts get you. Sandy ;)

This is P. K. our "baby" and the look on his face is just how I feel after being in class all day. Thank goodness the information we went over today was stuff I knew for the biggest part. Our instructor said something that really hit home for me when she said "someone pulled my cork and all my sand ran out." I have never heard that before and thought it was too cute. Actually I am enjoying the class as the instructor knows how to keep your attention with the way she presents the information, you almost forget you are learning. She also has such a wonderful sense of humor that she keeps us laughing.
So I ask myself now why I am doing this when I probably should be looking over the information we will be discussing tomorrow? Answer: this is just so much fun and it is nice to vent a little even if I am the only one that reads it, and our precious Amanda. It is a good thing poor P.K. can't see that I am using him this way, he is so sweet.
Onward and upward, time to go and hit the books. I hear it is good for aging brains to stay busy but this is ridiculous.

Well after spending all day working on my blog I have finished creating for a while. I did want to add this picture of a book I bought. I saw it one day while out and about and thought how cute is this then Amanda came to my mind. Of course there was nothing to do but buy two of them for our girls in Georgia, even though Georgia beat my LSU Tigers yesterday. The pages are so cute and there are stickers to place where needed for different events. I do not know how Amanda keeps up with which one of the children is going where on what day and at what time, she is an amazing mom and may not even need to use it. Missy also has a busy schedule so maybe she can use one as well. If not needed that's okay too, it was fun for me to get them for the girls and their dad liked the idea as well, that is a good thing as I had already bought them. ;)

P.S. Amanda I ordered my Cricut Expressions yesterday and it should be here in 4-6 weeks, then I will give you the one I have now and if I end up with dulplicate cartridges I will also give them to you. I am excited for both of us, I enjoyed what I have done with mine so far.

I found it!

This a picture of New Smyna Beach taken from the Atlantic Intercoastal Bridge.

I created this blog because I enjoy my daughter's but I could not find it again until tonight. I hope to keep it up as best I can and hopefully will get better at it as time goes by. This is such a beautiful time of year and to post pictures and tell some tales would be great fun. This summer has gone by so fast and the cool air is here, we have opened our doors and feel the breeze off the water. A dream come true for my wonder husband who is now able to sit in his chair and drink coffee in the mornings while watching the boats and different birds that pass by. We are truly bless for sure.

I will try to post some of the pictures from our family that I have taken or had sent to me since summer. Billy and I tried to take pictures in Tampa while going to the Tampa Bay hockey game but they would not let us in with my new camera with the detachable lens, go figure, so no pictures. I was in Tampa for a conference put on by RN's who are now lawyers and it was great. The entire time away with my husband was great as we were able to spend some time together which is odd because it is just the two of us at home with all of our children grown. Anyway we had a great time together and the city was beautiful.

This week my ole brain gets put to the test as I start an intensive care course at work. Not only will I work three 12 hour nights a week but will be in class two days a week trying to increase my knowledge to help me at work take better care of my patients. I love my job but have not worked on a Cardiac Medical floor in many years, it is so different than Home Hospice or the emergency room. I'm sure it will be fun as I am under no pressure in the class, one of my co-workers and I are doing this on our own time so we are not locked into working at the hospital for two years in ICU, I like freedom of choice. Anyway I am excited about being in class again as I enjoy learning and the learning environment.

Time to such for some fun pictures and try to post them, of course as you will see most will be of my grandchildren and other family members.

Here I come!

This is my first attempt at setting up my blog, pray for me and my computer. I have enjoyed my daughter Amanda's blog so much that I decided to try this out for myself. Many of Amanda's stories are about the most important things in my life, our family. There is nothing greater than having a family and I am blessed with a great one. I was born to be a grandmother and adore seeing the pictures Amanda posts on her blog along with the stories about the pictures. We have 10 grandchildren so far, 4 of which are Amanda's, and more would be fine with me if God decides to send more our way through any of our children. You have now been warned that many pictures will be on this blog of my children and grandchildren, some will be heartwarming while others will be crazy and funny because that is the way life is and I love taking pictures.
As you can see from the picture I am also a NASCAR fan, bigtime. My husband and I enjoy watching to races together and have been to the two Daytona races this year along with some of our children/grandchildren, what fun. In October we are going to another race in North Carolina which should be fun as well as beautiful and cool. Living in Florida it gets pretty hot and we will enjoy the race, the activities before the race and the cool weather will be a plus. Of course my man Dale, Jr. will beat Jeff Gordon, who is the driver my husband likes most, although he will not agree with this statement at all.
Enough for my first attempt at this, more will come later if I do things just right and push the right buttons, don't throw the computer against the wall or be blown away by Fay. :)
